About Me

My name is Ms. Marly and I teach Kindergarten at Edison Elementary School in Naples, FL.

A little more about me:)

I have been wanting to teach for about a year now, although when I was a little girl, I used to school with my cousins; It was so much fun!

In addition to my teaching role, Im still considered a student at Edison State College. I want to earn my Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education and earn my Master's Degree in perhaps Counseling or Special Education. Everything takes time and I know my time seems slow right now, but it'll be worth it!

Teaching is a challenging profession and I believe it has to be something that you're going to enjoy doing for a long time. I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs yo grow and mature sociall, physically, intellectually, and emotionally. I want to help my students reach their fullest potential in these areas by providing them an environment that supports risk taking, is safe, and brings in the sharing of new ideas. There is progressivism and constructivism philosophies and I will more than likely include and take advantage of thses two philosophies that best way I can. Although my role would be to guide, I would arrange information for them, instead of them coming to me as their first source of information, which is okay if they do, but i want them to know they're capable of doing anything on their own.

Most Importantly, I want my students to flourish with care, respect, and peace for themselves and others. They need to be able to share their ideas and be able to reach a discreet approach on how to have discipline within a group. Every student will be heard and be able to express themselves freely in the classroom. Setting fair rules, I believe will teach them how to respect for their peers, themselves, and for the teacher.

Maxine Greene once said, "Only a teacher in search for her freedom can inspire a student to search for his own."

I want to be a good teacher by having my students live well and in balance in my classroom. A care free class!
